PRAC Welcomes Newly-Passed Legislation Extending Statute of Limitations on Pandemic Relief Fraud

Michael E. Horowitz, Chair of the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC), heralded last week’s Senate passage of legislation that extends the statute of limitations for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) fraud from 5 to 10 years. The legislation passed the House of Representatives on June 8, 2022. Chair Horowitz had called for passage of both bills earlier this year in separate testimony before the House and the Senate. The PRAC Releases New Interactive Dashboards

Robert A. Westbrooks, Executive Director of the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC), announced updated interactive data dashboards, published today on PandemicOversight.gov. A demo of the dashboards—which include visualizations of data from the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF), Shuttered Venue Operators Grants (SVOG), and the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF)—will be presented during a virtual roundtable on how local governments are shedding more light on pandemic relief spending in their communities.
